Inner and Middle Temple

The Honourable Society of the Inner Temple and The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple make up the Inner and Middle Temple of London. These are two of the four Inns of Court, which are the official associations for barristers in the United Kingdom. The Inner Temple was made up of members of the Military Order of the Knights Templar who built the Temple Church. The building suffered numerous bombing during the Second World War between September 1940 and May 1941 due to its proximity to the River Thames. Middle Temple, however, is located just next to the City of Westminster.
